Ain’t nothing like the real thing when it comes to Talkeetna Spinach Bread. The ladies out of Talkeetna, AK know how to make a mean slice of spent grain bread covered with spinach, garlic, and melted cheese. They were very much my inspiration for this recipe. Though I didn’t get anywhere close to the delectability of their bread, this will work in a pinch.
Shallot and Rosemary Puff Tart drizzled with a Honey-Balsamic Reduction
This puff tart can be made in no time with a prepared puff pastry or one that’s homemade, if you’re feeling adventurous. The sweet, honey-balsamic caramelized shallots, paired with the herbs and salt make for a perfect small bite. This sucker pairs great with a chilled, dry white wine.
Bacon, Vidalia, and Dried Plum Relish with Camembert
Bacon. Beer. Onions. I am speaking the foodie language right now. Add some dried plums, spices, and a touch of maple syrup, cook for a few hours, and you have a perfectly savory-sweet(ish) bacon relish without all the added (and overpowering) sugar you’ll find in the presently popular bacon jam recipes. Pair this with a creamy camembert on crackers or slices of baguette for a delightful hor d’oeuvre.
