Carrots+Peanut Butter=Weird Combination and something I had to try! Pretty much, you boil carrotsĀ for 20-30 minutesĀ and and coat them with a “Medium White Sauce” mixed with a couple tablespoons of peanut butter. How bad could it be?
Awful. It tasted like boiled carrots coated in a bland, oil and flour paste because, well, that’s what it was. The flavor was nil. I thought, in the very least, the flavor of the carrots would shine through, but it most definitely did not. It was too overpowered by the white sauce. I didn’t even take a dedicated picture of the recipe because I didn’t think it was worth sharing. I did, however, take a picture of the finished product and the page on which the recipe is written. I’m sure there’s an adage somewhere indicating that a good food photographer can make unappetizing food look appealing. Call me a novice. Call me lazy. I just don’t have what it takes to make this look good. I tried to puree it, add a little oat flour and make dog biscuits from it, but that didn’t work well, either. So, it went to the chickens.
However, it did inspire a tasty muffin recipe, which I’ll be sure to share with you this week.
